Synopsis

Welcome to the 4th Borobudur International Symposium 2022.
In 2015, the United Nations has set a blueprint for sustainable development goals. The achievement of the SDGs had not yet reached the target, even before the Covid-19 outbreak. Natural disasters and the unequal distribution of food, energy and water resources pose significant dangers to the implementation of the SDGs. It is clear, there is a gap between actual capacity and the ambition to achieve the SDGs because it is constrained by the unpredictable geopolitical environment, spatial gaps, and trade-offs. Problem in social, economic, and public health on a global scale also hinder the achievement of these SDGs.
So... the world needs more research and innovation!
Of course, we cannot remain silent on this matter.
As we know, Research and Innovation is a long and cumulative process that includes much decision-making from idea discovery to implementation. Through The 4th Borobudur International Symposium in 2022, we try to accommodate researchers, scholars, and practitioners to disseminate their research and innovation results in order to contribute to solving global problems.
To direct our discussion, we invite world-class keynote speakers, they are:
1. Dr. Wahyu Caesarendra, from the University of Brunei Darussalam.
2. Associate Professor Yun Arifatul fatimah, from the Center for Sustainable Intelligent Circular Economy, Indonesia.
3. Professor Nuran Acur, from the University of Glasgow, Scotland.
4. Dr. Sukanya Dej-adisai, from Prince of Songkla University (she is an expert in pharmacy and biology). And
5. Dr. Matthias Wetzel, from Asia University.
This symposium raised the theme "The Innovation Chain: A Contribution to Society and Industry" and was attended by 400 presenters from 14 countries, including: Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Japan, Germany, Australia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Scotland, China, Brazil, Australia, and Taiwan.
Also, we thank and appreciate all the co-hosts. Of course, we hope that this cooperation will continue for the next year.
